1. I have had some time off exercise, is this suitable for me?
Yes, it's perfectly suitable for beginners to advanced. Most of our clients have experienced exercise breaks or are beginners. We understand that life happens. Even starting with 1-2 sessions a week and building up to attending 2-4 sessions per week can yield great results, just like many of our successful members who started the same way!
2. I have a few injuries, will I still be able to do this program?
Absolutely. Many of our participants have past injuries or medical concerns, so you won't be alone. We specialise in personalising workouts to accommodate your specific needs (yes, even in a group setting). We'll modify, adjust, and provide alternatives to ensure your comfort and safety throughout the program.
3. Do I need to be ‘fit’ to start?
Not at all. Most of our new participants consider themselves beginners, often feeling like they are starting at square one with their fitness. We begin by understanding your current fitness level, which may be quite low initially and that's completely OK. If you're in this position, you won't be alone. Many others are starting from the same point, and we see this every single day. Remember, waiting or trying to go it alone hasn't worked in the past. Taking the first step is what matters most, after your first few sessions, you won't know why you were so worried.
4. What if I can’t keep up in the session?
Don't worry at all. Your workout is entirely tailored to your fitness level, whether you're a beginner or haven't exercised in a while (for most people we speak to, it's 5-20 years). We understand your concerns, but most of our new starters feel the same way. Our sessions always match your current fitness, ensuring a comfortable, challenging, and effective experience. For newbies wanting to start with us, we have a range of flexible trial options to ease you into things.
5. I don’t have any knowledge about exercise or training, will that be a problem?
Not at all. In fact, it’s rare that anyone that starts out with us has any substantial knowledge about anything specific to form or technique in the program. This is why there will be a coach with you every session and alongside you every step of the way. They will be there to help ensure you are doing everything safely, if we’re using equipment they will make sure it’s suitable for you, if there are modifications or adjustments needed for you they will provide personalised recommendations for you and finally they will make certain you are getting the most out of the program.
6. Is everyone else going to be ‘super fit’?
No, quite the opposite actually. We have a number of new starters kicking off every week and for the most part they have had significant time off regular training or this may even be their first time doing anything like this. Everybody started out the same way so we always see amazing encouragement and support from everyone else in the program too, as they remember what it was like starting. We have always tended to attract people to our program who are positive and supportive who love to see others thrive and succeed.
7. Do I need to bring anything?
Just a mat (we do have some to borrow if you don't have your own to start with), a towel and water bottle, we have everything else you need.
8. What should I wear?
Nothing fancy, just normal active wear that you can move comfortably in and shoes with a flat sole that you would go for a walk in. Dress for the weather and layer up.
9. What times are sessions?
See below for our standard timetable. This is subject to change slightly on public holidays or for special occasions. We normally hold bonus (optional) group hikes, excursions and/or social events throughout the year on long weekends etc.
10. I'm travelling over the next few months, is it worth me still starting a program with you?
If you are coming onboard on our standard membership options, as long as you give us at least 3 days notice and you are going to be away for at least 1 week, then we offer suspensions. If you are doing any of our specialist programs such as our Winter Resilience Challenge, City to Bay Program, our Nutrition Programs, or any of our other accountability and habit based programs where attending classes are not a priority of the program, then of course you can still participate and get great value from participating! The programs where attending classes are not a priority, allow you to set targets outside of our classes, and give you tasks to focus on at home or while you are travelling! Our programs are about creating a healthy lifestyle that you can sustain, even whilst travelling, not only when you can attend classes!
What to expect next...
Quite frankly, some people are just not ready to improve their health & fitness... Because it does take time, effort and the ability to prioritise yourself, which is hard to do! And that's ok!
Personally, I've lost almost 30kgs and transformed my life from the darkness of depression and food addictions, to be able to help others live a fulfilled life! As a parent to 3 additional needs kids, and a business owner, I get that focusing on health & fitness might not seem easy right now for you...
So, if you haven't already booked a chat, book a call! I’ll be reaching out to you at the time you book to go over your needs, answer any questions, and to see if what we do, may possibly work for you!
But… if you don’t want to wait for my call, you can reach me on my personal number 0400033302 or brightongroupfitness@gmail.com
I look forward to speaking with you soon!
Committed to your success,
Glen Lomman
